Reporting a Disease of Public Health Significance
The following diseases of public health significance must be reported to the Medical Officer of Health under Ontario Regulation 135/18 and amendments of the Health Protection and Promotion Act.
Health care providers are required to report suspected or confirmed cases of diseases of public health significance to the Health Unit. Reporting timeframe varies by disease, refer to the following list with specific reporting timelines and contact information.
